The National Disability Insurance Scheme has been designed to give participants choices and control over the plan developed to provide the supports they need to achieve their goals. One of its strengths is that it gives participants the flexibility on how the participant spends their money. There are three types of support budgets in each plan.
In each of these three areas there are sub areas assigned with specific categories of funding. There are a range of rules regarding the flexibility within each of the categories on what is covered and up to what value for each item or hourly rate. Yes, it does get a little complex but that why AIIM Choices are here to help you though this maze to keep you focused on getting the maximum benefits from your plan.
AIIM Choices spends time with each participant at the start of their plan to build an understanding of what is possible so that you have the information you need to make the best choices.
